Are you suffering Foot Pain? Bunions? Heel Pain? Knee Pain? Hip Pain? Low Back Pain? Ankle or Lumbar Pain? Difficulty with Standing? Poor Posture? Then you may need Custom Foot Orthotics from Evolve Chiropractic & Wellness.

Evolve Chiropractic has chosen to partner with a leading Canadian Custom Foot Orthotics provider, Peak Orthotics. With Peak’s continuous commitment to research and development it has lead to the creation of a unique Dynamic Rehab Orthotic. This device focuses on activating the flexor muscle group through gait thereby actively strengthening the foot.

The Peak Dynamic Rehab Orthotic has proven effective by helping to cure many foot conditions such as; Plantar Fasciitis, Patellofemoral Syndrome, Achilles Tendinitis, Hammer Toe to name a few. This device is the sustainable approach to custom orthotic treatment, found uniquely at Peak Orthotics.

These specialized orthotics allow Evolve Chiropractic Foot Orthotics that focus on stabilizing the rear foot to slow down pronation in the subtalar joint, from heel strike to mid stance. It then provides substantial forefoot mobility to challenge both extrinsic and intrinsic flexors, from mid stance to toe off making it an active retraining implement for the foot rather than a traditional passive structure.

At Evolve, our team of practitioners are highly trained in assessing the feet and gait. We then work hand in hand with Peak’s Podiatrists to have the perfect, custom orthotic manufactured for our clientele. These Orthotics can be direct billed to nearly all extended health benefit plans.

At Evolve Chiropractic & Wellness, we are pleased to offer our patients the discipline known as Natural Clinical Nutrition.

Our Natural Nutrition Clinical Practitioner Mel Cronshaw takes the approach of looking at the whole person, not just a part or two. Mel takes into account the emotional, physical, and situational aspects of her patient when evaluating their nutrition.

Mel focuses her efforts based on the fundamental notion that all the various parts of a person are connected and therefore interrelated. She knows that because every client is considered to be unique and individual, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to Clinical Nutrition.

The key is to uncover the root cause of a potential imbalance and help direct the body to heal itself.

For many years, food and nutrition has been my number one interest, pass time, hobby, and passion. A self taught chef, I have always loved everything foodie because let’s face it, food is one of the best joys in life. But somehow the misconception developed that healthy food resembles something like cardboard, and is seen as a punishment. Whereas “junk” food is seen as a reward or treat. It is this mindset I aim to change in everyone I see. The healthiest foods can deliver all the pleasure and enjoyment we need, while restoring health and balance that the mind and body need to function at an optimal level. It is common practise that I include recipes in my plans to help build my client’s confidence in the kitchen, and get them excited about healthy food again.

I began my formal education in 2013 where I studied Health, Diet, and Nutritional Studies from Oxford College. After completion of the level 5 HND, I went on to study Nutritional Sciences at Manchester Metropolitan University, where I finished with a First Class Honours Degree with specialisation in both clinical and sport nutrition. This allows me to cater to clients with complex needs in both areas. I am currently a member of the British Nutrition Foundation and a registered Associate Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition, the only register of Nutritionists recognised by the NHS and Public Health England.

I cater to clients with a vast variety of health complaints from IBS to Type 2 Diabetes. Treatment usually involves thorough investigations into lifestyle, family history, medical history, and current/previous diet. This allows me to get to the root cause of many symptoms and enables me to create a plan that works for you, and fits into your lifestyle. Poor nutrition has been shown to be the main contributing factor in many conditions, and complaints including chronic fatigue, menopause symptoms, fertility issues, skin problems, low energy, digestive issues, and chronic disease. It is not uncommon for clients to reduce or even eliminate medications needed for a range of conditions with nutrition counselling. The human body is composed of countless systems to maintain health but if just one of these systems breaks down if has a knock on effect to the rest of the body. Once that balance is restored, many complaints simply just resolve on their own. This is what we should ultimately see as “health care”.

For many years, food and nutrition has been my number one interest, pass time, hobby, and passion... Read More
